Rubberwood is an environmentally-friendly sustainable hardwood because it makes use of plantation grown trees that have already served a useful function: rubberwood trees produce a latex sap (our primary soruce of natural rubber) for approximately 30 years. Instead of being felled & burned after the tree no longer produces latex, the wood can be used to produce furniture and other hardwood products, like these attractive highchairs.
