Horsehair
Very durable with a naturally flagged tip. Good shear/break resistance. Will not scratch smooth or highly polished surfaces. Not for use on oily or wet surfaces. Best in fine floor sweeps or counter dusters. Palmyra
Medium to highly stiff fiber from the Palmyra Palm grown in India and Africa. Durable and good bristle recovery. Can be used wet or dry. Best in medium sweeps to street brooms, scrub and deck brushes. Tampico
Soft to medium stiff fiber from the Agave plant grown in Mexico. Durable, retains shape after continual use. High resistance to heat, alkali, solvents and acid. Can be used wet or dry. Best in fine to medium sweeps, scrub, counter and deck brushes.

Fill - Synthetic

Nylon
Very durable. Excellent abrasion resistance, shear/break strength and bristle bend recovery. Will not stain, discolor or absorb odors. Resistant to alkalis and most solvents. Can be used wet or dry. Best in scrub brushes. Polystyrene
Extremely durable. Excellent bristle bend recovery and shear/break strength. Resistant to water, oils and solvents. Not for sweeping compounds or oily surfaces. Best in fine floor sweeps and counter dusters. Polypropylene
Very durable. Good abrasion resistance and shear/break strength. Will not stain, discolor or absorb odors. Resistant to solvents, acids, oils, fungus and bacteria growth. Can be used wet or dry. Best in medium to heavy floor sweeps and scrub brushes.

Fill - Wire/Metal

Brass
Provides a high degree of abrasion without severely scratching hard surfaces and will not rust. Best for heavy cleaning of metal or brick surfaces that cannot sustain heavy scratches Stainless Steel
Provides a high degree of abrasion and wear resistance. Resists chemicals and rust. Excellent bend recovery. Best for aggressively removing residue from metal or other resilient materials. Tempered Steel
